Dr Marina Matta
As a hospitalist I take care of patients with conditions that require being admitted to the hospital, such as diabetes, heart disease, liver conditions, and kidney failure. I am a nocturnist, meaning that I work throughout the night to admit patients and order the appropriate medical imaging and laboratory tests, with the goal of formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan that will help put patients on their way to recovery as soon as possible.
I have always loved science and the opportunity to take care of people to make an impact. I was further inspired to pursue a career in medicine by my father, who is also an internal medicine doctor. My philosophy is to treat my patients like I would want my family to be treated.
In addition to providing the best-possible medical care, I am also dedicated to being a healing presence for my patients. Being sick and in the hospital can be scary. Sometimes, people just need someone who will listen.
